The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a process developed by the Church for its catechumenate for prosective converts to the Catholic faith above the age of infant baptism, or for adult Catholics seeking completion of the Sacraments of Initiation (e.g., Confirmation or Eucharist). The Church welcomes those who want to join themselves to Christ through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist. We also welcome Christians from other Christian denominations who are already baptized and wish to complete their sacraments of initiation in the Catholic Church. The OCIA journey is a time of inquiry, learning, prayer, and community as a candidate discerns God’s call in their life.
