Middle School Faith Formation

Youth in grades 6-8 gather on Wednesday evenings, Sept to April, from 7-8:30pm to pray, grow in their relationship with Christ, and learn more about their Catholic faith. We begin each Wednesday with music and prayer in church led by our senior high worship team. Youth then meet in small groups until 8:30pm.

Activities during the year include the Fall NET Retreat, Pancake Breakfast, MEA Bonfire, Operation Christmas Child, Parent’s Night Out, Advent Brunch, Christmas Caroling, Interfaith Youth Day of Service, Easter Baskets for Keystone, Easter Egg Dyeing, End of Year Mass and Ice Cream Social.

Upcoming Events

Discipleship Groups
Youth in grades 6-9 are invited to join a Discipleship Group. Discipleship Groups will be held on six Wednesdays, 7-8:30pm, via Zoom. We will meet as a large group, led by Liz and Laura, and then break out into small groups, led by Teen Mentors, for the remainder of the meeting. The dates are Jan 27, Feb 10 & 24, Mar 17, April 14 & 28. There are two groups to choose from:

LIFE AS A YOUNG CATHOLIC: What does it mean to be a young Catholic today? In this Discipleship group we will explore how we are shaped by current events and how our faith can help us to make sense of it all. This group is led by Evie Ankrum & Ritah Karanja.

CATHOLIC ART: Come join us to learn more about Catholic art from around the world! Over the six meetings, we will explore all different kinds of art including, paintings, drawings, music, poetry and much more! We’ll analyze, discuss, and do some art of our own! If you’re interested in art and want to learn more about Catholic art, this is the perfect group for you! We hope to see all you beautiful artists there! This group is led by Josie Gale and Ellie Heebsh.

Family Faith Formation Registration
We are making some changes to our faith formation program this year due to COVID-19. Instead of in-person Sunday School and Wednesday Night Faith Formation classes, we will be offering family faith formation for children in Grades K-8. We will provide you with paper materials, including a parent book and books for each of your children. Instead of teaching by individual grade level, there is one curriculum for your whole family that includes activities for different ages. You pick and choose the activities that work for your family. There is a chapter for each week, October – April. Our Coordinators of Faith Formation, Liz and Laura, will meet with parents via Zoom monthly to offer support. The cost is $25 per child and covers the cost of the materials. Scholarships are available. Please register online by Sept 18, so we can get the materials to you.

Adult Leaders

We love fun adults who have a desire to share their faith with our youth. If you are interested in volunteering with Corpus Christi youth, please contact Liz Russell at liz@ccmn.org.

All volunteers must be background checked and have completed VIRTUS training as required by the Archdiocese. A Code of Conduct form must be completed each year. Adult volunteers that are driving must also fill out a driver form.
