Riots in recent days have caused much damage in the Twin Cities, so Corpus Christi is planning to help by collecting food and other supplies for those in need.
- Food and personal care items
- Basic medical supplies
- Batteries and flashlights (for areas without power)
- For more examples, consult the lists of most needed items recommended by Keystone Food Shelves and Second Harvest Heartland.
Parishioners wishing to contribute are asked to drop off donations at the Parish Office (old school entrance). The entryway is always unlocked. Be sure to label your boxes or bags “For Our Neighbors”.
If you would be willing and able to help transport donations please contact Liz Russell.
If you prefer to make a financial donation, you may do so online or you may send a check payable to Corpus Christi. Please indicate that your donation is “For Our Neighbors”.
We are also looking into the possibility of adopting a block and setting up a day and time (or several) to help with cleanup. We could perhaps provide ongoing support to residents and businesses on the block as needed. This will take a bit more time to research and time to organize, but we have reached out to Incarnation/Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Catholic Church, located in south Minneapolis, to offer our assistance.
We will provide updates on any additional opportunities to help. Thank you for considering how you can be part of this effort and bring love and light to people who are hurting.
